Jan. 18th, 2026 10:00 pmYou know, I still miss having a fandom website that encouraged conversation. I'd still like that to be a thing again.
It's weird how when everyone migrated to Tumblr, it took me a good while to get the hang of reblog culture. I think it's very cool in its own way - I love how it creates a shared culture across the site - but it can't be denied that it's limited. It's a fanfare, not a round-table.
On LJ you made a blog, joined a community, engaged with that community, and made friends. Discord is the worst possible substitute because it's like a firehose when you're looking for a water fountain.
I suppose DW can't be an alternative unless people use it, so here goes again. Let's use it. Let's set that intention. Woo.
